Crystal Jade Meal³, Pavilion
Right after our tasty lunch at Crystal Jade Kitchen, we proceeded to Crystal Jade Meal³-about 5 minutes walk away(need to burn some calories!!!). Crystal Jade Meal³ is East meets West, similar concept with KimGary, WongKok and other HongKong restaurants out there with exceptional experience. Meal³ offers better ambience with great food.
Amazingly, they have one of the biggest screens around which is awesome especially during the football season. Plus their lights change colours. I love colour lights. I’m a kid.
Delicious creamy mushroom soup with puff on top. If you’re planning to order this, please allow 10-15 minutes baking time. It’s all worth it once you’ve taste the thick creamy soup in your mouth.
I’m not a cheese person. I don’t take cheese so I can’t comment bout the dish. But it definitely look very appetizing. This is a signature dish in all HongKong restaurant around, baked cheese rice. Who doesn’t love it?
Meal³ serves great caesar salad. I mean great as in healthy and sinful at the same time. Dressing with a touch of Orange Wedges, Cronton, Cherry Tomato, Boiled Egg and Beef Bacon, I could have few plates of this amazing dish. Those who opt for lighter meal, order this and fulfill yourself healthily.
I just can’t stop thinking about this particular dish. The taste is rather strong with tossed shrimps with mayonnaise on the toasted french bread. I tell you, you have to try this scrumptious bread! Two thumbs up!!! Can you imagine, 8 person sharing this plate of toast? We were practically fighting for the bigger portion. This is better than garlic bread. Anytime.
This wasn’t in the menu listing for our lunch. The sauce is delectable with the tender lamb. One slice of the lamb and I was intrigued. I am practically mystified right now recalling the taste of the lamb.
Oh…this is one you should not skip. Meat lovers out there, this plate of balls are the best BALLS. These huge balls and thick sauce reminds me of something. And damn it, it tastes so good….
Who can resist ice-cream cake??? Especially with that dose of Irish Creram. Meal³ definitely serves one of the finest dessert I’ve ever tasted. The particular mud pie is unlike what I’ve tasted before, the cold ice-cream that melt in my tongue, luscious. Women out there, skip the blowjobs, you deserved this!
Mango. My favourite fruit. I was expecting something more typical and I was again baffled when this dessert was served. Lemongrass flavour Caramel, Strawberry Jelly topped with mango sago with Pomelo. Each layer is just heaven-like. Combining these three layers, hands down, best mango dessert I had so far. Mindblowing, I tell you.
Crystal Jade Meal³ is located same row with La Bodega and Coffee Bean in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. They serve vegetarian dishes, alcohol and smoking is permited. Yay! Set meals will be available later on this year. Meal³ has area of 2013 square feet and main dining hall fits 95 seats while the open air dining has over 10 seats.

Meal3 is a departure from the predictability for Crystal Jade, perhaps for the Malaysian market anyways… East meets West – typical Hong Kong “Char Chan Teng” … yet with a difference…
How is it different?
Well for one, there’s a open bar out front – yes, the chalk-board with the Tiget Bear on the first photo is part of Crystal Jade Meal3, not “accidently in the photo due to angle problem”. WHY the open bar, which is sooo not Hong Kong Cafe? … well, according to them, that’s to fit in with the environment – this stretch Pavilion is mostly made up of al-fresco dining / pubs / bistros – and so they were requested to “blend in” a little by Pavilion management. (hmm… I wonder what about Coffee Bean and Starbucks?)
The other “difference” is their menu – you’ll find mostly western influenced dishes in their selections (see photos above and you’ll know what i mean), with very little of the typical Hong Kong cafe offerings like the oh so getting to be boring nissin noodles / udons / multi-colored drinks with just as fancy names which nobody can make out what’s in it without ordering.
If you’re looking for something different in a Hong Kong Char Chan Teng, you should probably give it a try. Plenty of pleasant surprises here
oh, one thing that’s predictable at least, is the quality of the food and the superb service! I’ll give it two thumbs up anytime!
