Rakuzen, Chulan Square

Posted in birthdays, food on November 25, 2008 by jessbabe

Yes, my birthday celebration has started. Last Friday, Kitson, one of my good old friend just backed from Paris decided to be the first to celebrate my auspicious turning twenty ahead as I’ll be having wonderful finals on the exact 3rd of December. I’m trying to be optimistic here!

He works for HONDA, so eventually, he decided on Japanese dinner and Rakuzen was his choice. Instead of heading to the Subang branch, we went to Chulan Square which is much nearer to my place.

Placing Japanese order is simple, solely because I can only eat certain things and I will only eat certain things. However, Kitson enjoys making fun of me and make me try new things.

Salmon 7 pieces

This sashimi is fresh. Heaven!

Fried Soft Shell Crab Roll topped with Flying-fish Roe (Spider Roll)

Oh, Kitson recommended this! Anything with soft shell crab is on my list! Although you see tonnes of mayonnaise all over, but it’s not as sweet as it looks like. ROE and CRAB! yums…

Grilled Smelt 3 pieces (Shishamo)

So, I asked Kitson why he ordered this, his reason, “No bone”!

Grilled Beef (Yakiniku Zen)

Beef beef beef… Who doesn’t love beef?

Sushi which comes with the Yakiniku set

Can you imagine, my set consists of Fried Soft Shell Crab, a bowl of rice, a bowl of Miso soup, chawan mushi, fruits and a bowl of yummy UDON!

For the amount of food we had, the bill was only RM 115. Super affordable and we couldn’t moved at all, so full!

I like this time of the month.. when they’re bloated and filling the gaps. How I wish the twins are that full everyday?

La Senza is tempting. I need to stop shopping. Especially sexy lacy lingeries but Christmas is coming, time for new clothes. Leopard prints are back everywhere. I’ll be going down to Penang on my birthday weekend for Penang Jazz. Out of itchy fingers, I bought a surprise present for someone.

I need a new phone, my old one is breaking and tearing apart. A new laptop as well. Birthday presents for me anyone?

Amuleto on Thursday, Japanese on Friday. Su May will be back next month. I love festive season. Everyone is back. Money, when you wana come back in my arms?

I’m extremely happy today. I wonder why???

Travel with me anyone?

Airasia is driving me insane. Look at their promotion here. How can?

I was clicking around and going to Bali only costs RM 269 for return ticket, Krabi RM113 return ticket.

I was in Bali last year and I want to go back again. Krabi, I might drop by at Koh Phangan for their full moon party.

This is blowing my fucking mind. It’s not easy getting travelling kaki. So far, most of the friends I ask are either financially pretty tight now or travel period too far ahead to schedule.

Anyone interested to travel with me? I’ll be wearing bikini wor…

had I been different

A night with feast, I spent my evening with a person I dearly care about which I hope to spend my future with. With a room filled with children’s laughter, adults gossips, political talks, stock markets, I was left stranded with the feeling of fake smiles and unwanted. A new member to the family was welcomed with million dollar smiles, perhaps she looks rather introvert and speaking about her background was definitely something to look forward to. Again, a person who I hope I will spend my future with utmost respect and love, if God permits, did not bother speaking more than a sentence to me.

Was I that bad-material?
Was it my hair?
Was it my top?
Was it my shorts?
Was it my age?

What was wrong?

I never felt so unwelcomed ever in my life. I’ve always received wide smiles and sincere interests when it comes to friend’s family. But tonight, this very moment, tears formed and I wished tonight never happened. I tried to adapt perhaps I am too young or stupid or shallow to have a conversation with me.

Family plays an important role in my life. Plus, I want to feel belong and acknowledged by his side of family. Should I spend my future with him, would his family be pleased of me?

shingles, leave me please.

Life isn’t fun. A month or less before I turned 20 and I’m not enjoying the countdown.

I’m suffering from shingles right now, also known as Herper Zoster (Nope, not STD). It happens to majority older people. I’ve got old people disease. How disturbing.

What is Shingles?
Shingles (herpes zoster) is an outbreak of rash or blisters on the skin that is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox — the varicella-zoster virus.  Some people have mostly itching; some feel pain from the gentlest touch or breeze.  The most common location for shingles is a band, called a dermatome, spanning one side of the trunk around the waistline. Anyone who has had chickenpox is at risk for shingles.  Scientists think that in the original battle with the varicella-zoster virus, some of the virus particles leave the skin blisters and move into the nervous system.  When the varicella-zoster virus reactivates, the virus moves back down the long nerve fibers that extend from the sensory cell bodies to the skin.  The viruses multiply, the tell-tale rash erupts, and the person now has shingles.

What is the prognosis?
A person with a shingles rash can pass the virus to someone, usually a child, who has never had chickenpox, but the child will develop chickenpox, not shingles.  A person with chickenpox cannot communicate shingles to someone else.  Shingles comes from the virus hiding inside the person’s body, not from an outside source.

Tell me how do I cure this ugly sight on my back? I want to wear my brand new bikinis. I’m so depressed this very moment and this shingles is killing me softly. Due to the shingles, I can’t eat meat except fish. My appetite has been deteriorating and I’m feeling woozy whenever I try to stand up due to low blood pressure I guess. I think my wisdom toothache is coming back with the stress I’m going through. Sleeping and resting don’t seem to help much, but sitting giving me bad strain on my spine. HELP!!!!

Finals fall on my birthday till the 6th of Dec. Tonnes of assignments and presentations due this coming few weeks. Life ain’t treating me right.
